ON THE ETYMOLOGY OF THE ETHNONYM HUNS AND ANTHROPONYMS OF THE HUNNIC LEADERS

Fedchenko Oleg Dmitrievich
independent researcher, Bryansk, Russia

Abstract
The article examines the origin of the ethnonym and anthroponyms of the Hunnic leaders. It has been established that the etymology has its own explanation in the Celtic language environment, and not by reconstructed lexemes, but by words that have survived in the languages to this day. The European Huns got their name from the marshy area where they were first settled. The anthroponyms of the leaders have a complete word-formation model and meaningful meaning.
