TURKMEN FOLK EPOS ABOUT THE HERO KOROGLU – TURKMEN – TEKIN AND HIS WESTERN EUROPEAN TRANSLATIONS

Abstract
The article examines issues related to the English, French and German translations of the Turkic-Oghuz epic “Koroglu”, carried out by A. Khodzko, J. Sand and O. Wolf, which were published in 1842 and 1843. Respectively in London (England), Paris (France) and Iona (Germany). The history of its translation into French is covered in some detail. Particular attention is paid to the question of the nationality of the main character of the folk epic.
