Abstract
The article examines in the historical and philosophical context the role and importance of the conservative-conservative ideas of the outstanding publicist MN Katkov in the philosophy of Russian justice in the second half of the 19th century. The author substantiates the need for a balanced combination of liberal and conservative ideas in determining the path of development of domestic justice.
