Abstract
The diameter of the tree is one of the most important indicators of the forest inventory. Especially important is the diameter of the tree at a height of 1.3 m. The calculated cross-sectional area, and from there transferred to the trunk volume and planting stock on the basis of this indicator. However, the cross section of the trunk is not a regular geometric figure. It was found that for the most suitable cross-sectional area calculation formula of the circle and ellipse. The calculation of these formulas is simple and gives satisfactory results, but also can lead to serious errors, especially when establishing cross-sectional area with a single tree trunk shape, substantially different from the correct figure. The purpose of this study - to determine how different the number of trees of a particular form of the size category trees. Thus, we can determine where the focus irregularly shaped trees and give them special attention in diameter dimension.
