Abstract
The study is devoted to studying the peculiarities of adaptation to school of junior schoolchildren with visual impairment in comparison with normally developing peers. The article considers age and specific features of adaptation of younger schoolchildren related to the character of the defect. Comparative analysis was carried out in two subgroups: junior schoolchildren with normal mental development and younger schoolchildren with visual impairments. Based on the results of the ascertaining study, a program of the forming experiment was developed and tested. Its goal was to prevent possible disadaptation in younger schoolchildren with visual impairments.
