Abstract
The paper demonstrates the results of the empirical research of cognitive and value aspects of young people (Russian and European ethnocultural groups) attitude to marriage. It shows that official marriage is much more valuable for the representatives of the Russian ethnocultural group, i.e., is personally important, meaningful and regarded positively. In contrast, the representatives of the European ethnocultural group have an ambivalent attitude to marriage although it is characterized by veneration of conservatism, norms and family values.
