AbstractThe article discusses the Hungarian experience in the field of policy towards national minorities. The author analyzes in detail the historically formed peculiarities of the ethnic-cultural situation of Hungary. Among the national minorities of Hungary, special attention is paid to the Gypsies, for whom acculturation is the biggest problem. The author comes to the conclusions about the causes of misunderstanding between the Roma and Hungarian society, as well as the possibility of exacerbation of these contradictions.
