Abstract
This article analyzes the formation of prefixal verbal synthetic derivatives at the conceptual level in the French and Portuguese languages. As the research reveals the main derivational elements in prefixation are circumstantials, which are divided into categories of locativity, phase, condition, contrariety. On the language level mutation, modification and modification-mutational types carry out prefixal derivation.
