Abstract
The presented research is dedicated to the analysis of the genre matrix of the J. Boyton Priestley’s spy novel. The attempt to analyze the forming and constructing of the genre of the spy novel in the end of the XXth century is done by the author in the context of the events taking place and taking into account the fact that the author had some relation to the state intelligence service.
