Abstract
Ecological literacy is an important factor for surmounting environmental problems. The present article is concerned with forming ecological literacy on the higher education stage. The article covers the following issues: the notion of ecological literacy, tasks, foundations and arrangements needed to form ecological literacy on the higher education stage. Within the scope of the present article, a research was conducting aimed at identifying the actual degree of ecological literacy among students and determining their need for ecological education. What is more, a survey of teachers is providing, with the resulting conclusions on the influence of the teachers within the studying process on forming the students’ ecological literacy.
