Abstract
The article is devoted to peculiarities of the fantasy genre. The authors consider characteristic features of this genre studying the three famous works belonging to different fantasy directions. Due to the results of the undertaken study the authors deduce that there are some universal rules for creating fantasy genre plot, deviation from which may be due to the age of the target audience and the specific nature of the work.
