Abstract
At the moment, the aging of the population of Russia is one of the most important demographic problems requires good management solutions. As a social group , the elderly play an increasingly important role in the life of the country.
The article analyzes the changes in the socio- demographic characteristics and economic activity of the population of retirement age in the post-Soviet Russia.
