Abstract
North is considered to be a natural and very powerful ecological and geographical barrier of environmental degradation of the planet. It is equally important that the North virtually forms the Earth's climate. Arctic becomes the largest and essentially the last portion of the planet, endowed with diverse nature. The above-mentioned importance of the Arctic for the Russian Federation confirms the relevance of identifying the geopolitical and economic-geographical problems and factors of socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation
