Abstract
The article analyzes the main provisions of the legal argument. Reveals the evolution of the formation and development of legal reasoning, considered its functions and various aspects of public life. It is emphasized that the legal argument - is a form of rational communication, whose members seek to achieve consensus through convincing arguments and exchange of views.
