Abstract
This article is devoted to the conversion of the electric power complex of the Russian Federation. Analyzed the prerequisite of the reform and the features forming of the new model of electric power industry. Special attention is paid to the functioning of the wholesale and retail markets for electricity. As a research task, the authors tried to assess the results of the reorganization of the electric power industry and the impact of reform on the Russian economy.
