Abstract
The modern practice of training students shows that the introduction of knowledge test control on the results of studies is an effective means of assessing the acquired competences. However, not only the final control, conducting input control of students' knowledge is also necessary. The results of testing of students at the beginning of the course "Engineering Mechanics" allow making adjustments to the process of training to get the highest performance results.
