Abstract
The article deals with the problem of Slavic colonization of the territory of the Volga-Oka interfluve, which I millennium BC. e. was inhabited by the Volga Finns. V.O. Klyuchevskii believed that the colonization was totally peaceful. However, archaeological data indicate that the relationship between them has not always been peaceful.
