Abstract
The author analyzes the categorical apparatus and approaches of modern economic science to the problem of formation of food security. Researcher explores the links between the concepts of «economic security», «food security», «multifunctional agriculture», «agricultural protectionism» and «protection of agricultural markets». The conclusion is that the liberal concept of food security idealizes mechanisms of competition in the modern global economy.
