Abstract
The article proves that shaping up a competitive national innovation system in Russian Federationas a basis for further development is impossible without venture mechanism launch. Investigating into essentials of venture financing shows that the latter is treated as capital advances into growing business which is usually hi-tech one. We found similarity of venture investors role to engineering providers role and involvement extent, who deliver a complex of knowledge, experience and managerial best practices.
