PROPAEDEUTIC HISTORY COURSE: WHY, WHAT AND HOW TO TEACH?

Abstract
The sociological poll of Ukrainian History teachers, methodologists and scientists are analyzed in the article. Polling was about mission, content and methodology of introductory Ukrainian History course. According experts' opinion the aim of propaedeutic History course is to interest History and to form a notations and initial students' knowledge from History. As specialists' polling testifies, the content must be present a plot exposition of key historical events and historical personages' activity. Historians are convinced, that methodology must implementation the tasks for value determination of key events' and historical figures in Ukrainian History. In experts' overwhelming majority opinion, History textbooks for 5th form are no optimal. Experts has unrealized conflict, because the chosen aim ("to interest history") cannot give the desired consequences.
