Abstract
The results of theoretical analysis of gender identity of youth in modern society. Considers the concepts of domestic and foreign scientists on the stated problem. It is shown that in this cultural-historical stage, as a result of modernization of all social institutions, gender differences in the role of the modern generation is undergoing change, shaping the variability of gender. Women and men who adhere to egalitarian gender roles, androgynous, more adapted to life in the social environment. They are more flexible in the relationship compared to women and men adhering to traditional gender roles.
