Abstract
This article discusses one of the most important tasks of higher professional art education - the development of a holistic perception of works of art. First developed and tested authoring program for students aimed at developing an understanding of works of art, in accordance with the concept of systematically-stage formation of mental actions P. Galperin. Its effectiveness is due to the organization of student activism in the process of learning, various forms of control, creating conditions for the gradual working out mental actions to complete an indicative basis.
