In the modern world, it is undisputed that proficiency in a foreign language serves as a tool for communication in society, positively influencing overall human development and various aspects of life. With the advancement of information technologies, the process of international integration is underway, providing opportunities for free communication, exchange of information, and interests. Mastery of a foreign language facilitates the comprehension of information and participation in international exchange flows. Proficiency in a foreign language not only promotes personal growth but also enhances competitiveness in the professional sphere if language proficiency is sufficiently high.

Moreover, the study of a foreign language has a positive impact on personal development. Learning a new language contributes to the activation of certain brain regions, improvement of adaptability, and increased reaction speed to various situations. In other words, studying a foreign language activates previously unused brain areas, enhancing the ability to understand, translate, and reproduce information. This contributes to improved reaction speed and adaptation, which is inaccessible to individuals who do not speak foreign languages due to the lack of similar brain stimuli[1, p. 95]

The importance of knowing a foreign language for educational and professional medical activities is becoming increasingly relevant. Today, when training specialists in medical universities, learning a foreign language is a mandatory component.

The concept of teaching a foreign language to medical university students is built on taking into account the specifics of their chosen future profession, in order to build optimal educational programs that can meet their needs in a professionally oriented field. For a future medical worker, knowledge of a foreign language acts as a tool for acquiring new knowledge, improving professional qualifications and increasing the level of his competitiveness in the professional environment. Knowledge of a foreign language in medical practice allows you to study various literature on medical topics, consider foreign research experience, delve into the latest technologies and developments in medical development, allowing you to improve and develop as specialists. In addition to independent work with various sources of information, knowledge of a foreign language allows you to participate in international congresses and conferences, do internships abroad, and interact with foreign colleagues to exchange experience and knowledge. [2, p. 229].

Socio-economic transformations in the social, scientific, economic, and industrial spheres of our existence are associated with the emergence of new types of professional activities that require the training of competent medical specialists. Today, the primary task of medical educational institutions is to train specialists who can quickly adapt to changes and navigate the huge flow of medical and scientific information. Under such conditions for the functioning of medicine in the modern world, the need to know a foreign language is characterized by the ability to obtain information in the professional field of a specialist, become familiar with the scientific achievements of world science, and study the latest research and developments applicable in the implementation of their practical activities. Due to the different levels of development of medicine in the world, in the future, the role of knowledge of a foreign language for medical workers will only increase until it becomes the main tool for the development of medicine in terms of gaining knowledge and sharing experience.

At the level of studying a foreign language in medical universities, students must master the basic skills of its use necessary for further professional activities. During their studies, students must study medical terminology, taking into account the chosen specialty, in order to be able to conduct conversations on relevant topics, develop the ability to work with scientific texts, compose translations, highlight significant information, and develop free communication skills in the medical environment. To one degree or another, English is taught at all stages of a person’s education, so most people have varying degrees of proficiency.

In addition to the development of scientific and professional activities, knowledge of a foreign language for a medical worker is significantly reflected in communication with patients, since at any time the need to communicate with foreign citizens may arise. Knowledge of a foreign language can help a medical worker in situations of providing emergency care to foreigners, when there is no time to find an interpreter. Medical practice knows many cases where the lack of opportunity for normal interaction and understanding of a foreigner caused the inability to provide the necessary treatment, since the medical worker was unable to correctly interpret the reasons for the patient’s ailment [3, p. 16].

As mentioned earlier, the different level of medicine in countries around the world is determined by the degree of development of the country as a whole, the level of development of modern technologies, innovative development and other factors. These differences create the prerequisites for the need for cooperation between countries in order to keep abreast of the latest developments, research, theories and other aspects of the functioning of medical activities. But the effectiveness of interaction between medical specialists and foreign employees depends on the degree of proficiency and understanding of a foreign language.

In medicine, the use of foreign medical drugs is widespread, in many cases due to the use of newer technologies and an increase in the therapeutic effect during their development and creation, as well as the use of imported equipment. In addition, many citizens prefer foreign medicine, and a related factor is maintaining a medical history in a foreign language. This also leads to the need for a medical worker to speak a foreign language in order to fully carry out professional activities.

Many medical professionals note that it is in the conditions of direct interaction within the framework of scientific academic conferences that there is an opportunity to gain a significant amount of knowledge and exchange experience, and therefore, the increasing need to improve foreign language proficiency is emphasized [4, p.51].

Practicing medical workers note that in comparison with the period of training in medical institutions, with the direct implementation of professional activities, the motivation to learn a foreign language increases significantly. This is due to the emergence of real contacts with foreign colleagues, the desire to become familiar with the latest opportunities in the professional environment, and the emergence of aspirations to realize oneself in the academic or international space.

Thus, the improvement and development of foreign language skills in the medical profession is not only a tool for the development of personal qualities that affect the general level of education, but is also a significant tool for the development of professional qualities of a specialist. In the modern world, a medical worker who has a decent command of a foreign language and is engaged in continuous self-development is a valuable specialist in his professional circle, capable of not only identifying current trends in the development of medicine and applying them in practice, but also sharing his knowledge with colleagues in the form of scientific publications , classroom lectures and more. The growth of professional skills of specialists who intensively apply the above methods of using foreign language skills act as motivation for other colleagues and increase the level of competitiveness in professional medical activities.
