Abstract
The article examines the ethnonym Sveons mentioned by Adam of Bremen. It is revealed that the ethnonym comes from a horonym, which allows us to determine the area of ​​settlement of the tribe on the Scandinavian Peninsula. It is determined that the ethnonym and the names of the historical regions of ancient Sweden are of Baltic origin. It is also established that the ethnonym Danes.
