Abstract
This article explores the multifaceted legacy of Magtymguly Pyragy, a revered 18th-century Turkmen poet. It highlights his contributions to Turkmen literature and language development. The article examines the ethical and spiritual themes woven into Magtymguly's poems, emphasizing his focus on patriotism, good deeds, respect for elders, and love. It also explores the poet's religious influences and his place within the broader context of Turkic and Eastern literature.

Magtymguly Pyragy, the thinker and poet of the Turkmen people, is a great visionary poet who glorifies the Turkmen people with his wisdom and unrepeatable artistic creativity. Oriental scholar E.E. Bertels calls Magtymguly Pyragy, who revealed many secrets of the world to us in advance, “Jemşidiň jamy”. Behind every poem, every line of his, there are great revelations of mysteries yet to be revealed. That’s why not only Turkmen scientists, but scientists from all over the world consider it their duty to study Magtymguly’s life and work. Magtymguly’s spiritual and moral ideas are at the level of humanity, and at the same time, they are a treasure for the younger generation. He teaches the principles of happiness, peace, and doing good based on the concepts of morality, good-evil, soul-body, liar. The poet actively uses moralizing tools with his lines, such as ” Ogry bolsaň, diňlegil, bolgaý niçik halyň seniň” He understood that the main task is to make a person spiritually flourishing and healthy. One of the characteristic aspects of Magtymguly’s understanding of moral culture is the combination of many moral aspects with faith. Accordingly, his moral views are mixed with religious, secular, moral principles. The humanity of the wise poet denied many indecencies that entered the minds of the people of that time. He urges smokers to give up their cigarettes, proving with valuable examples that such bad habits have a negative effect on health and hygiene, and ultimately, lowers one’s dignity.

The dignity of the poet is permanent in the history, social, political, cultural and literary life of our people. Magtymguly became a great faith in the Turkmen’s soul, and an indelible light to his mind, a stone that accurately analyzes the good and bad of life. With our independence, a very favourable and political environment was created for the study of Magtymguly Pyragy. Great poetry has been given a place worthy of its dignity. Magtymguly opened a wide way to study Islam and the mystical, literary stream, which was an indispensable source of his researches about perfect society and man, and his wise thoughts about spiritual beauty. There are districts, theaters, museums and streets named after the great thinker in our country. Magtymguly Pyragy’s courage, bravery, and patriotism are exemplary, and the literary legacy he left behind is a pure source. As a passionate poet who glorified love, an able teacher, preacher, he took a great place in the hearts of the young generation who were the future owners of the country. This shows that the services of our great classical poet to the Turkmen people are limitless.

Magtymguly Pyragy lived in the 18th century, made a great contribution to the improvement of Turkmen classical literature, and completed great works in the development of the Turkmen literary language. In his poems, he constantly emphasizes that all power, strength, fame, and reputation depend on the service he gives to his country and the value he attaches to it. He always promotes the interests of the country by looking at the solution of any problem from the people’s point of view. The poems of the poet, who tried to firmly instill in the mind of the reader that the issue of true humanity and country, is connected with love, are also inseparably connected with this issue. “Don’t be angry, you will see – hang!” he says. Magtymguly’s poems, which are not far from everyday life, are very clear, pleasant and effective for the general public. The great poet advocates noble virtues such as respecting the elder and respecting the younger, and acts as a teacher on this issue in his poems. It encourages creativity and love of work. He expresses the fact that the profession is useless to the society without the profession: “Deeds do not come out if you want them, bread and butter, from a patient husband.” The poet, who believes that it is the duty of the young and the old to respect the elders, respect them, and respect the parents, strongly condemns those who do not fulfill this duty with his wise and effective words.

Magtymguly sprinkles the bright and positive principles of our nation with his thoughts on various aspects of life, such as patriotism, courage, unity, generosity, and hard work. Poems of the poet are proverbs and proverbs, which have become the history of people’s languages. By making the great poet known to the world with poems containing very insightful and sharp thoughts, he raises him to the level of a great master of words, recognized as a poet of all nations and all times. The humanistic views of the wise poet, absorbed in his poems, had a positive impact not only on the life of our own people, but also on the lives of other peoples of the East in the 18th-19th centuries. Accordingly, it is revealed that Turkmen classical literature is an integral part of general Turkish classical literature. Because the Turkmen nation is one of the most ancient representatives of the Turkic peoples and the Turkic world, and even if we say that its root is humanity, it would not be an exaggeration. That is why Turkmen literature and the work of its great and outstanding representative Magtymguly Pyragy are studied along with general Turkic literature and even in the field of Eastern literature. That this is true can be seen in the works of the great poet. In Magtymguly’s poems, the general Turkic literature, Yusup Balasagunly’s “Kutatgu-Biligi” (11th century), Ahmat Yasawy’s “Divany Hikmeti” (12th century), Rabguzy’s “Kisasyl-Enbiyasi” (14th century) are included. ), as well as the influence of Imadeddin Nasimi, Alyshir Novai, Muhammed Fuzuli and others. Apart from these, it can be seen from his poems that the poet is fully familiar with the literature written in Arabic and Persian languages.

Magtymguly Pyragy’s poems are a wonderful fruit of natural wisdom and natural talent, and are a true reflection of the wisdom of the Turkmen people. The value of the great poet’s poems is irreplaceable as a scientific-educational basis, a teaching-methodical source, and a school of education. Today, the sage’s poems are recognized by millions of people around the world as a great contribution to the treasure trove of spiritual values of humanity. Those poems are accepted by the peoples of the world as a teaching that inculcates peace, friendship, brotherhood, humanitarianism, patriotism, spirituality, appreciation of spiritual values. Respectful words sound like a teaching, reforming, invitation to beauty and spirituality to the generation of humanity that is growing day by day and advancing towards perfection. As long as Magtymguly’s poems are directed to the understanding of humanity, you will deeply understand the world of wisdom, and you will realize that the treasure of human education is immense.

Magtymguly, the thinker-poet of the Turkmen people, whose whole life was driven by his boundless love for the country, left a legacy to the Turkmen people with his meaningful poems, which will live forever in the souls and souls of not only his time, but also future generations. Magtymguly gives the most important place in his creativity to folk folklore, which is the inexhaustible wealth of his people and the beautiful heritage of his ancestors. That’s why his poems are very clear for the whole public and are so pleasant and touching, they fit their soul and the whole situation, even today it is impossible to imagine a Turkmen home without Magtymguly’s book, a Turkmen holiday where Magtymguly’s poems were not sung. it is not possible. It is possible to compare every aspect of Magtymguly’s work with certain famous figures of the East. But although Magtymguly tries to some extent to each of them, none of them has his own speciality. Magtymguly Pyragy, the great thinker of the East in the truest sense of the word, shines in the languages of the world with his unparalleled wisdom.

Today, Magtymguly’s poems, which inspire more and more people, are the unquenchable voice of every person’s soul, a school of perfection, and a lamp that shows a bright path in life. The visionary Magtymguly dreamed of the Turkmen being free and believed wholeheartedly that the Turkmen people would have a free and prosperous state. During the Revival of the new era of Powerful State, the multi-faceted and advantageous affairs of out Honourable President are a clear testimony that the free life dreamed of by the thinker is flourishing.
