Abstract
This article is devoted to the study of the theoretical aspect of the scientific content of the term "natural monopoly". The conducted research revealed that the majority of enterprises of natural monopolies are in joint ownership of the state and business. In the legal space, natural monopolies are associated with the state of the commodity market, where the satisfaction of demand in this market is more effective in the absence of competition due to technological features of production. The natural monopoly is the transportation of gas through pipelines.
