Abstract
The article reveals the relevance of students ' independent work, and the need to involve them in research work with the aim of training future qualified engineers. As a result of research the model of organization of independent work of students majoring 23.03.03 "Exploitation of transport and technological machines and complexes". Using the developed model, students can easily learn and apply in practice obtained at the University knowledge.
