Abstract
The article is devoted to problems of improving modern methods of teaching foreign languages in high schools. As one of the ways to optimize the methods of mastering linguistic material, which allows efficient use of the time allotted for learning foreign languages, the author examines application of the techniques, based on theoretical linguistics data on intra and inter-system connections in the studied languages.
