Abstract
Article is devoted to research of a semanteme the word in the russian language mentality on prover-bial material. The field model representing stereotypic ideas of Russians of the word, its role in hu-man life is built. In the analysis of cultural and ethnic component model of a semanteme its polar estimation on the basis of which steady mentalitetny sheaves are created (the word – business, the speech – silence, kind / tender – rough / bad, strong – correct, etc.) is revealed.
