Abstract
This article is devoted to consideration of the relationship of the domestic Orthodox theologians to the problem of human cognitive activity. The learning process in this case is a hierarchical system, which is closely related to the moral sphere. The relevance of the topic is determined not only axiological and regulatory function of religion in Russian society, but also the fact that the apophatic method of knowledge developed by scholars, recognized by modern science as one of the most promising research strategies.
