Abstract
This article is devoted to the study of fiber-optic communication lines (FOCL). Currently, the VOLS are widely implemented in all areas of communication networks. FOL makes it possible to transmit data flows with a speed of 100 Tbit/s, has a low attenuation of signals that allows to build plots of optical systems in more than a hundred kilometers without repeaters, has high noise immunity and much more. There are a large number of different classifications of optical fibers, it is therefore necessary to study the principle of light propagation through the optical fiber, to improve its technical characteristics and parameters, to improve the quality of signal transmission.
