Abstract
The analyse of the dramas of J. R. Becher that have not yet been translated into Russian and of the drama of L. Rubiner demonstrates the change of the expressionist attitude to the renovation idea. The emphasized contradictions allow to conclude that the expressionists were dasappointed in the idealized concept of the opportunity to create the new utopia.
