Abstract
The research paper discusses the basic natural and social and economic background and prerequisites for the development of wind power in the Altai Territory and in the Republic of Altai. We studied the natural characteristics of the area and we identified the main trends in the distribution of wind energy. We analyzed the energy problems of the territory and highlighted the ways to solve them.
