Abstract
The treatment of native cellulose by sodium metaperiodate is carried out. The effect of reagent concentration and oxidation time on amount of aldehyde groups in the cotton cellulose is studied. The reaction conditions of oxidation of cotton cellulose by sodium metaperiodate for receiving optimal content of aldehyde groups are obtained.
