Abstract
The article describes the possibilities of clarifying the categories of "development" and "self-development" in the structure of the training of future teachers of physical culture. The most relevant to the preparation of teachers of physical culture are axiological, acme-pedagogical, humanistic, health saving, personalized, synergistic approaches.
