Abstract
Russian Orientalism has a special significance as the geographical position of Russia is unique and it allows influencing the historical, ethnographic and cultural development. Referring to the works of Dimitriadi N.B., Rakhimov D.A. identifies four periods of Orientalism in Russia. The main representatives of Russian musical culture in the second half of the 19th and early 20th cc. are A.N. Serov, A.G. Rubinstein, M.A. Balakirev, N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, A.A. Spendiarov and others.
