Abstract
The article presents the results of the research of the Russian version of the “Curiosity and Exploration Inventory” (CEI-II). This test relates to the methods of positive psychology and was submitted in 2009 by a group of American psychologists from George Mason University. The results obtained on Russian sample, data on retest reliability and correlation consistency of the scale are presented. We also analyzed gender differences and test the possibility for formation of subscales. It is discovered that in Russian population relatively high level of inclination to curiosity and exploration. The scale detects high levels of retest reliability and interitem correlation. Gender specificity of this scale is not detected. It was also found that the test has good potential for the development of subscales. The variant of test presented can be used when working with Russian-speaking examinees in scientific psychological research and in the practical work by psychologists and psychotherapists.
