Abstract
In the article we analyzed the meaning of the terms « merger» and «acquisition» in the Russian and foreign practice, the made a comparison of interpretations, reviewed the classification of transactions M&A, conducted the analysis of legal regulation of mergers and acquisitions in the Russian Federation, as well as revealed the shortcomings of the legislative framework of mergers and acquisitions in Russia.
