Abstract
The paper presents the results of studies of speech development in children in early childhood. It is shown that there is a direct relationship between the mother's verbal intelligence, particularly, the ability to generalize, and passive vocabulary of the child. It was revealed that the education and profession of the mother is a factor of the speech development of a child.
