Abstract
Forests have always played an important role in human life. Around the cities they are extremely important, being the basis of maintaining the required quality of environment and rivers-reazioni. Forests in sparsely populated rural areas, have production, are often the only source of income, and in areas of compact residence of indigenous peoples is the basis of their daily existence. For someone forest the only way to meet basic needs, for others it places religious-oznoy or historical value, and sometimes these patches of forest known only locally-mu or indigenous populations. However, uniform data on the Vologda oblast is no point, and in the absence of such a base of valuable forest areas can be under threat.
