Abstract
The article is sanctified to the events related to the initial period of Scottish penetration toNorth America. Comparative description of insufficiently known standards of literary genre of the XVII century is presented - treatises, propagandizing advantages of all types of participating in colonial projects. Works by Scottish pioneers of colonization William Alexander and Robert Gordon are presented as important sources for the study of the early history of Nova Scotia.
