Abstract
The article on the materials of the Tyumen province considers some aspects of the activities of the police in the period of war communism and the initial period of the NEP. On the basis of a wide range of archival sources, the article considers the performance of the police specific functions such as the fight against speculation, smuggling, control over observance of rules of trade, the fight against desertion.
