Abstract
This article is directed to identify the problem of assessing competences of universities professors.Thisproblembecomesimportant in the modern fast-paced world. To bridge the gap between competences, required in the labor market and competences, formed during the learning process is necessary to build the system of an assessment and development of competences of universities professors. The system should be based on the principle community of practice for the interchange of experiences and knowledge.
