Abstract
In the article influence of the foreign-language scientific and technical text characteristics on efficiency of training in a foreign language in technical higher education institution is considered. Criteria of effective selection of foreign-language texts for their consecutive introduction as a training material are defined. As significant characteristics of the foreign-language scientific and technical text are allocated: informational content, clearness of logical structure, commonality of the text creation, uniformity of lexical units.
