AbstractThe article is devoted to the category of time, which represents the basis for the division of the world cultures into monochrome and polychrome. The perception of the category of time is the result of the whole accumulated man’s experience, this category serves as a foundation for interpersonal communication. The representatives of the monochrome and polychrome cultures percept this category differently, it finds its expression in the peculiarity of the national proverbs.
