Abstract
The article reveals the methodology of self-learning and self-education of students in accordance with the new Russian educational standards. Defining the concept within the framework of self-development acts as a reflection of their own results and ways to achieve them. Detail the levels and types of reflection are identified and the position of a student and a teacher in the interactive process of teaching a foreign language.
