Abstract
The article is devoted to ensure a decent standard of living, considered through the prism of income and guaranteeing a living wage. The work focuses on the fact that in Russia there is a mismatch cost of the consumer basket and the minimum wage. The conclusion is made about necessity of development of mechanisms for direct support of the population with incomes below the subsistence minimum.
