Abstract
This article introduces the pecularities of selecting of song material for foreign language lessons. This issue is relevant, since the inclusion of music and songs into the lesson contributes to the motivation of children to learning and allows more active formation of their lexical and grammatical skills. The article highlights the key principles of selecting the song material.
