Abstract
The article is devoted to the novel Detský plač v podkroví from the famous Slovak author Ivana Ondriová. The genre synthesis and ideological and philosophical content of the novel are examined in the article. The genre was determined as the family novel with elements of mystery and detective. The writer develops the idea that the spiritual maturing of the characters is the condition for the creation of the ideal family model.
