Abstract
The article deals with innovation activity as a special factor in the competitiveness of small businesses. It analyzes the main economic indicators of small businesses, as well as the regulatory framework of innovation activities of small enterprises in the Russian Federation. The factors limiting investment activities, as well as factors that are theoretical and methodological basis for constructing a model of innovative enterprise. Proposals to improve the competitiveness of small enterprises in modern conditions.
